Let Freedom Ring

I love the 4th of July and Thanksgiving. These are the 2 uniquely American Holidays. They celebrate our founders, The Pilgrims and Our Founding Fathers. Today, we should not only celebrate our Founding Fathers and Mothers, we should also remember what they stood for…FREEDOM.

FREEDOM is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as; “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hinderance or restraint.” FREEDOM is what both the Pilgrims and Our Founding Fathers sought here in North America.

Here, in the United States is where they fought the battles that have shaped us into the Republic that we are. Today, we honor their memories and their efforts.

And, TODAY, we should do a little more than celebrate by having a barbecue and watching some fireworks. Perhaps, when our FREEDOM is arguably being eroded, we should resolve to keep our Republic the bastion of FREEDOM that our Founders envisioned. Read our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. These aren’t just words. They are guidelines that govern our actions and insure that OUR FREEDOM cannot be taken away from us.

Yet, our FREEDOM can all too easily be taken away from us. Because, without one’s health, there’s the ultimate “hinderance and restraint”.

Mahatma Gandhi said; “It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” And, there’s an Arabian proverb that says: “He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything.”

Our ability to enjoy the blessings of FREEDOM conferred upon us by those who came before us is predicated on our state of health.

It is well-established that people who have healthy mouths have fewer systemic illnesses and actually live on average of 5 years longer. And now, with our focus on breathing and Sleep, a dental visit is even more preventive and FREEDOM promoting. Perhaps there’s no better way to take control of a portion of your health than by having regular dental visits. It’s one of the simplest and yet most effective ways to stay healthy.

So, this 4th of July, all of us wish all of you, the BLESSING of excellent health and FREEDOM.
